The firm is very well known for its expertise in criminal law.  The senior partner has throughout his career had a keen interest in criminal law and continues to support that side of the firm although nowadays he spends a great deal of time preparing large fraud cases.

This department is run and controlled on a daily basis by Catherine McCarthy who has a number of solicitors and other support staff working with her.  They aim  to service clients and the duty solicitor scheme 24/7. The emergency service run by Catherine should ensure that clients can call upon us at any time in an emergency. Let's face it - too often clients will find themselves in the police cells without any notice being given! It is not just 'repeat' clients that we look after urgently. Families often find that someone has been drawn into a police enquiry and no matter how great the belief that they are innocent, it is always a difficult time.
