Please find enclosed a copy of the letters that I have written to the Committee on Standards in Public Life and to the Cabinet Office.

I am writing direct to your Office as it is quite clear from the introduction that you wrote to the code of practice that you regard the code of practice as a serious matter.

I cannot do any better than submit the details that I have already set out in my letters to the Cabinet Office and to the Committee and I would, therefore, invite you to consider the situation and either ensure that either one or other of the above are able to respond without delay or perhaps your Office could confirm the position on the Code of practice and what appears to be the default by the Lord Chancellor’s Department with regard to this important and difficult consultation document.
