history

Clarke Kiernan began in June 1997 in two offices, one in Tunbridge Wells and the other in Tonbridge.  The offices were part of a wide area network but to aid efficiency it was decided to merge the offices in Tonbridge.  We therefore added a modern block of offices to our existing Tonbridge practice to service our clients who visit us from a wide area.

The road and rail infrastructure in West Kent is such that Tonbridge had to be the centre of choice.

We still operate out of multiple sites but the offices are all within about 50 metres of each other making it easy to use wireless and cat5 networking for our WAN.

We have maintained our size over the period since 1997 but now have to face up to the need to take on more fee-earners to service our growing list of clients.

The firm has always specialised in litigation.  We conduct cases from Tribunal to European Court of Human Rights with almost all courts in between.  We choose to be litigious.  It is what we understand and it is what we enjoy.

The firm is set to assist private clients and clients who need to rely upon public funding.  We have contracts with the Legal Services Commission in Crime, Family and to sue public authorities including the police.  We are recognised by the Legal Services Commission as a High Cost Serious Fraud Office making us one of a select group of firms in the country. Our civil department also specialises in personal injury work.

Our investment in technology has been significant and effective.  This assists us in delivering a timely and suitable service for our clients.
